Mounted Flap Wheel

The flap wheel with shaft is designed for light grinding, mixing, deburring, and polishing of all kinds of metals. The vitrified abrasive-covered flap conforms to the workpiece and provides a smooth, clean surface.

 

Each fin on the Mounted flap wheel is covered with a brown fused alumina abrasive compound. Ceramic abrasives are ideal for light to moderate cutting, the compound is engineered with a proprietary process that enhances the toughness and hardness of the particles, creating a harder, longer-lasting abrasive designed to cut quickly and handle high heat and stress applications. Ceramic/alumina blends outperform alumina abrasives in stock removal rate and durability, making them an excellent choice for moderate stock removal and surface preparation.

 

The abrasive mix is attached to a flexible cotton backing using a resin bond. This resin-bonded material is designed to resist thermal and chemical degradation that can occur during high-speed sanding. This bond is very strong, allowing for faster cutting and higher cut rates. This wheel also includes grinding aids for coolers running on stainless steel. Each flap features an X-weight cotton backing that provides a tough yet flexible surface that bends to fit any workpiece. As the wheel is used, the self-cut lobes wear away to reveal sharp new abrasive, ensuring that the wheel will consistently polish surfaces throughout its life.

 

Coated abrasive flap wheels are ideal for light grinding, mixing, granulating, and descaling of a wide variety of metals. Abrasive flaps provide a long-lasting supply of fresh abrasive and a load-resistant design.

The flexible abrasive cloth of the threaded flap wheel shaft can reach uneven and irregular surfaces, and the heat generated when grinding with a cotton cloth can be dissipated quickly without hurting or burning the surface of the workpiece. Due to the flexibility of the Abrasive wheel, more comfortable grinding can be achieved by shaking hands, so even inexperienced operators can achieve professional results.
