What Is The Operating Procedure For The Polishing Process Of The Flap Discs?
Among the coated abrasive conversion products, there is a type of product with a relatively high proportion, namely the flap disc. The flap discs are made by bonding the cut abrasive belt sheets on the back cover in an overlapping manner along the circumference of the base plate, which plays an important role in industrial production. In order to ensure the polishing effect, scientific and reasonable polishing procedures must be developed when using flap discs for polishing. You must also pay attention to some operating specifications.
1. The specific operating specifications are as follows:
1). First check whether the screws of the polishing machine are loose and ensure that the leakage safety device is normal;
2). Wear protective equipment such as work clothes, masks, and goggles;
3). During the grinding process, the grinding tool must be held tightly with moderate force. The grinding wheel should maintain an angle of 15-30 degrees to the working surface. The force shouldn't be too strong. It should be gradual to ensure the flatness of the grinding surface;
4). Before grinding, check whether the welding parts of the parts to be processed are reasonable, whether there are any bumps, and whether the welds are flat. If there are defects, they must be re-welded before being polished;
5). When polishing the door panel surface, the weight of the polishing tool should be used, the flap discs should be smoothly integrated with the processed surface, and translation or circular motion should be used. Do not use sudden force in the middle or change the polishing angle at will;
6). When it is found that there are pores, slag inclusions, cracks, and other problems on the surface of the polished object during the grinding process, repair welding should be performed first;
7). After grinding, carefully check that there are no obvious cracks and defects in the grinding area, and there is no welding spatter around it;
8). After polishing, the surface of the polished parts should have no unevenness, the overall surface should be smooth, and the polishing depth should not exceed 0.2mm;
9). After polishing is completed, cut off the power in time, place the tools neatly in the designated location, and clean up the site.
2. Three technologies to improve the performance of flap discs
1). Correct selection: Correct selection of the flap disc can ensure maximum utilization of the flap disc. High-quality flap discs have relatively strong cutting forces and can adapt to the cutting process of materials with different strengths. Its heat-resistant and wear-resistant properties can also complete the grinding and polishing of large equipment. Its hardness is very strong, and its service life is several times that of similar cutting parts.
2). Sufficient pressure: Excessive use can overload and overheat the flap disc, which will cause the flap disc to wear faster and reduce the effectiveness of the abrasive. At the same time, if it is used without enough pressure, the flap disc will not bond with the metal, which is not enough to effectively grind the surface, which will lead to longer grinding time and further wear.
3). Correct use: The flap disc is designed at a certain angle. The angle depends on what you're doing and what you're grinding. However, it is usually between 5 and 10 degrees in a flat or horizontal plane. If the angle is flat, too many vane particles will immediately bond to the metal, causing the flap disc to wear faster. If the angle is too high, the blade cannot be used fully. This will result in excessive wear and understanding of some flap discs.
3. Basic requirements for the use of flap disc
1). Select the appropriate flap disc according to the design requirements of the equipment.
2). All equipment should be equipped with safety protection devices, such as protective covers, power-off brakes, overload protection, etc.
3). There are professional operators to install and use, wearing work clothes, goggles, earmuffs, etc.
4). Operators are not allowed to wear gloves, long hair should be put in work caps, pay attention to ties and cuffs to prevent danger.
5). Keep away from fire and humid environments.
